Chef Michael Lander began his culinary career as an apprentice under Chef Paul Albrecht in Atlanta, Ga. over 35 years ago, working for the first Buckhead Life Restaurant -- Pano’s and Paul’s.

After several years in the trenches, he began working in City and Country Clubs in and around Atlanta Ga., taking on his first Executive Chef position in 1989 at the Marietta Country Club.

During his tenure at the Marietta Country Club,

the club received an award for “Best Place for a Reception” by Atlanta Magazine.

He orchestrated the food production at several equity-owned clubs

in and around South Florida for the next decade.

He eventually settled in Vero Beach, where he accepted the position of Executive Chef at The Moorings Club, September of 2000.  He has a compassion for culinary apprentices since that is where he began.

After twelve years at the Moorings Club, he ventured out to open his own restaurant Michael’s Table that was opened in October 2012 on Vero Beach’s Ocean Drive and shuttered in 2014.

In 2019 he opened Michael’s on 7th, a down-to-earth casual cuisine restaurant

focused on responsibly sourced, high-quality raw ingredients, handled with respect.
